Lucknow / Mumbai, July 6, 2026: In a landmark political development set to reshape Uttar Pradesh’s electoral landscape and reinvigorate the national Ambedkarite movement, the Republican Party of India (Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) has formally announced an unconditional alliance with the Samajwadi Party ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar, National President of the Republican Party of India (Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar) and leader of the National Bahujan Alliance, personally led a high-level delegation to meet Samajwadi Party National President Shri Akhilesh Yadav. The meeting culminated in a broad-based electoral understanding aimed at consolidating Ambedkarite, Bahujan, secular, and constitutionalist voters under a unified “Secular Force” platform.
In an official letter dated July 1, 2026 (Ref: S. No. 256/2026-27), Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar stated:
“On behalf of the Republican Party of India (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar), along with a coalition of various progressive, social, and non-political organizations working for social justice, we formally extend our solidarity and alliance to the Samajwadi Party for the upcoming electoral and social campaigns.
Our core ideology remains deeply rooted in the principles of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar… We observe that the Samajwadi Party has consistently raised its voice for Social Justice and equality, matching our shared vision for a fair and inclusive democracy.”
The alliance is strongly backed by the National Bahujan Alliance and a powerful coalition of influential organizations, including:
• Buddhist Society of India
• Samata Sainik Dal
• Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Advocate Association of India
• Republican Student Association of India
• Youth Republican
• Bahujan Media Association of India
• And several other prominent Ambedkarite and Bahujan bodies inspired by the vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Leaders from both sides also reviewed the massive protest organized by RPI on June 8, 2026, in Lucknow against the Yogi government’s reported interference with the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial site. They resolved to launch a united, nationwide mass movement to protect Babasaheb’s memorials, uphold constitutional values, and champion the core principles of social justice, equality, and fraternity.
Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar, the great-grandson of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, emphasized:
“This coming together of Ambedkarite and Samajwadi forces will provide tremendous impetus to the Ambedkarite movement at the national level, especially in defending the Constitution and fighting against draconian majoritarian politics.”
Shri Akhilesh Yadav warmly welcomed the alliance and reaffirmed the Samajwadi Party’s full commitment to the shared goals of social justice, inclusive development, and the protection of constitutional democracy.
This strategic partnership is expected to significantly strengthen the opposition’s position in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh electoral battle and send a powerful national message: that Ambedkarite-Bahujan and secular forces are united, resolute, and ready to counter divisive politics with the transformative ideals of equality, justice, and fraternity.
